KEMUNDURUAN MUTU KOMODITAS HASIL PANEN HORTIKULTURA TANAH GAMBUT SELAMA MASA SIMPAN

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis kemasan plastik terhadap kemunduran mutu komoditas hortikultura produksi dari tanah gambut, meliputi tomat, dan kacang panjang selama masa simpan di suhu ruang. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen kuantitatif dengan perlakuan jenis plastik berbeda, yaitu PP, PP berpori, HDPE, HDPE berpori, LLDPE, LLDPE berpori, dan tanpa kemasan. Pengamatan dilakukan setiap tiga hari selama sembilan hari penyimpanan dengan parameter uji organoleptik (skoring warna dan tekstur) serta susut bobot. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga komoditas mengalami penurunan nilai warna dan tekstur seiring bertambahnya waktu penyimpanan. Berdasarkan uji analisis varians (ANOVA) berulang, perlakuan jenis plastik berpengaruh nyata (p < 0,05) terhadap kemunduran mutu secara keseluruhan, sedangkan interaksi antara jenis plastik dan lama penyimpanan tidak menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan (p > 0,05). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun semua jenis plastik menurunkan laju kemunduran mutu, pola perubahan antar hari cenderung sama. Selama pengamatan Jenis plastik PP, HDPE dan LLDPE dapat mempertahankan nilai tekstur dan warna yang lebih baik dibanding perlakukan kontrol tanpa pengemasan, meskipun tidak berbeda nyata secara statistik. Kemasan plastik dapat memperlambat kemunduran mutu tomat dan kacang panjang hasil pertanian lahan gambut selama penyimpanan suhu ruang.
